"TOKYO PACK 2016 - 2016 Tokyo International Packaging Exhibition will be held starting October 4 at the Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center).  At this exhibition, all Kuraray Group products related to packaging will be on diplay, including EVAL Division, Clarino Division, Kuraray Trading, and Kuraray Living.

1. Major Products

EVAL™ EVOH resin:  a functional resin with the highest level of gas barrier properties in plastic. It is widely used to package food, cosmetics, and for industrial applications like chemical containers, and automobile gasoline tanks. The main benefits are the extension and food shelf life and avoidance of waste, as well as often reducing the weight of the packaging.

EVAL™ EVOH monolayer Film: a barrier film for lamination made with EVAL™ resin.  In addition to high EVAL™ EVOH gas and aroma barrier, EVAL™ Film offers direct contact anti-scalping, heat-sealing, and forming properties.  Typical applications include laminated food trays and cups, and as an advanced barrier sealant to protect aromas and the integrity of medicinal ingredients.

KURARISTER™: is transparent high barrier retortable film for lamination.  Since it has high barrier properties against both oxygen gas and  water vapour, it offers a transparent alternative to aluminium foil in laminates. KURARISTER™ provides the barrier properties to retortable food packaging and pharmaceutical applications.

PLANTIC™: is a high barrier film based on a special starch derived from renewable biomass sources. The oxygen barrier property is high, making it suitable for packaging of perishable foods such as meat and fish. Less food waste with renewably sourced packaging materials helps reduce environmental impact.

KURAPET™: a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin for direct blow molding. Features include improved melt viscosity (drawdown) and melting point, with improved crystallization rate, transparency and chemical resistance.  KURAPET™ is used as an impact resistant alternative to glass for cosmetic and food packaging.
